The area around the triangle block has become affectionately known as the Heritage Heart by the community. Created by the intersecting of Kingsway, originally an ancient indigenous and animal trail, Main Street, formerly Westminster Avenue and 7th Avenue, this was the hub from which Old Mount Pleasant Village developed. From this unique intersection at the crest of the hill, Mount Pleasant grew into Vancouver’s first suburb.
The Mount Pleasant Heritage Group invites you to Mount Pleasant’s Heritage Heart to celebrate Canada’s Heritage Day (February 15th), British Columbia’s Heritage Week (February 15th – 21st) and this year’s theme ‘Distinctive Destinations: Experience Historic Places’. Head to Rath Art Supplies at 2412 Main Street February 15th to March 15th to discover the Heritage fun we have put together for you…and be sure to bring the kids!
